My reasons for wanting to pursue a health care career are because I have a passion for helping others. I love giving back to people and just the thought of making someone else feel good besides my self makes me feel good and want to continue helping others. I've done things like community service and helping my grandparents out since they've become senior citizens. The community service I did was for a nursing home a couple days before Valentines Day, me and others passed out beads to make them feel loved and just the smile on there faces made my heart melt.
Lessons I've learned from experiences in preparing for a health care career that will help me become successful in the future are learning how to be tactful in certain situations, tolerating others ethnics and beliefs, and to always be honest in any health care situation.
A fiction character that I think influences me the most is Batman. I chose Batman because, he is always helping innocent people from the bad guys. To me this would relate to health care by like protecting patients from bad diseases or harm. Also keeping patients aware of their wellness and treating them to make them healthy again.
The only issues I would have that is important to me is time and cost of nursing school. I know this will be a lot of work and time but at the end I will be doing something I enjoy so it wouldn't even feel like a job to me, it would feel like a hobby. The cost to go to school for nursing is also a big part, but observing and helping my grandparents has been a great experience that has had big impact on me that makes me want to do this even more.
